Data Management Manager is accountable for the daily operation of the data management business in Europe which includes adhering to approved budget for operations and hardware, fulfilling product orders from internal and external clients, assure service quality, timely and correct delivery, and the receipt, quality control and robust archiving of the Company’s assets. In addition, to manage, supervise, motivate and train people who work in the data management group. You will be instrumental in helping develop Data Management’s client strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the receiving, loading, databasing, archiving and maintaining quality of TGS’s data
- Responsible for uploading, assigning and updating project navigation and product information TGS’ internal systems
- Accountable for assuring quality and service in every delivery
- Accountable for investigating and resolving issues that client have with data deliveries
- Accountable for maintaining data quality for all stored data independent on media and location (on prem, remote or in Cloud/Datalake)
- Accountable for reviewing, improving, and documenting data management workflows and processes
- Accountable for liaising with business units to communicate workload and data issues
- Accountable for managing data management facilities on prem and remote storages like Bjerkås
- Responsible for reporting of projects and products to National Data Repositories according to rules and regulations for all projects stored and handled by the Europe Data Management teams
- Responsible for having up to date knowledge about governmental rules, regulations, and requirements for reporting of data for the countries where the Europe Data Management teams handles and stores projects
- Responsible for taking part in developing Data Management so that it can manage future demands of cloud delivery and new products
- Ensure the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and report any hazards, accidents or injuries to your immediate supervisor.
Qualifications; skills and competencies:
- Minimum of 5 years experience of oil industry Data Management and seismic data processing, with strong understanding of Geophysics
- Experience managing and supervising personnel
- Good understanding of common industry terminology pertaining to geoscience data
- Dedicated to perform job responsibilities with the highest standards and thoroughness
- Strong technical skills including:
- Knowledge of 2D, 3D and OBN seismic and potential field data and associated products including pre and post stack products, navigation, velocities, horizons and metadata
- Experience in re-mastering, copying and sub-setting seismic data and understanding of various seismic data formats
- Experience with UNIX and Linux based software
- Experience with seismic processing software like Prima
- Experience with cloud
- Customer service oriented
- Strong decision making abilities and interpersonal skills
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Good command of written and oral English and Norwegian
- Flexible and robust, with a positive attitude
