As a Sourcing Specialist you will be reporting to the Global Sourcing Manager, the Global Sourcing Leader will work as the sourcing owner for the assigned portfolio(s) Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), Specialty Chemicals and Oslo site sourcing lead.
These responsibilities include the development, communication and execution of strategies to ensure realization of the business objectives for assigned portfolio, which includes COGS deflation or inflation mitigation, Should-Be Costing activities, on-time delivery, technology transfer, quality improvement at suppliers and driving sourcing initiatives including risk mitigation plans and cash improvement both at Portfolio and site levels.
This is a highly visible global sourcing role, that requires a strong collaboration with SPECT product leadership team, supply chain (CMO manager), Oslo plant management team, finance and other functions.
This role requires ability to develop a strategic vision, “out of the box” thinking, new commercial models understanding. The candidate will have a strong business acumen, project and stakeholder’s management skills.
The global scope implies to cover Oslo production site and CMOs (Contract Manufacturing Organizations).
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the development & execution of the global portfolios sourcing strategies that delivers a competitive advantage driving the strategic supplier initiatives. This includes supplier selection, development, and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance.
- Leading sourcing execution for assigned portfolio(s) or suppliers, including full accountability for buy and meeting deflation targets.
- Performing detailed cost analysis of components & manufacturing processes used by our suppliers to ensure highest quality at the lowest cost solution.
- Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance and developing improvement strategies to ensure business needs are met.
- Partnering with key business stakeholders (product, supply chain, finance) and to ensure sourced raw material and services meet the needs of the business.
- Partnering with manufacturing staff, be operational and look for new opportunities. Challenge the status-quo.
- Developing negotiation strategies and drive negotiations with strategic suppliers to achieve stated goals and objectives.
- Working with businesses and suppliers to manage and track implementation of supply agreements.
- Communicating to senior leaders, obtain sign-off for projects funding, single source risk mitigation. Influence senior leaders on sourcing strategies, supplier selection, business models, acquisitions.
- Leading virtual teams and leveraging all company resources to achieve sourcing goals.
- Driving improvements in sourcing processes including escalations due to delivery/quality issues, invoicing/payables issues, and database management.
- Direct Sourcing responsibilities: Drive sourcing strategic initiatives to ensure optimal cost productivity, fulfillment, and obsolescence/life-cycle management by leveraging standardization and latest industry practices.
- Building deep relationships with Strategic Suppliers Relationships driving early supplier engagement into the company's New Product Introduction (NPI) process, and long-term partnership for wing-to-wing product lifecycle.
- Secure the portfolio in terms of contract, security of supply, double source in order to secure business sales and accompany the business segment growth by sourcing new suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or business administration with proven experience in commercial (sourcing, sales), supply chain.
- Strong business acumen and capacity to understand complex market dynamics (supplier/partner/customer relationships).
- Project management skills to execute complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in negotiating and executing commercial contracts.
- Fluent in English, Norwegian (or Swedish or Danish).
- Knowledge of IT systems/programs. Microsoft, strong Excel skills, SAP is a great advantage.
