We are looking for a Reliability Engineer for our customer.
Job summary:
Working in support of our core infrastructure team, you will be familiar with the concepts of observability, experienced in defining and implementing SLIs, SLOs & and alerts, and in tracking error budgets. You have first-hand experience in scripting & automation technology, and deployment infrastructure for microservices used by applications on public clouds such as Google Cloud, Azure and AWS. Your expertise will need to be supplemented with excellent team skills as you support product teams in hosting their services. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful SRE is highly technical and can work effectively with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:
Automation is a keyword for these positions. The shared delivery infrastructure (IaC) must be highly available, resilient, and secure. High quality software and site reliability engineering practices are mission critical. Your responsibilities will be wide ranging and include deploying, automating, maintaining and managing cloud-based production systems to ensure their availability, performance, scalability and security. Build, release and configuration management of production systems.
System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains
Ensuring critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions
Follows best practices associated with DevOps and value-driven development – ensuring quality from concept to production
Works well in a small team and capable of collaborating with other teams to align objectives and share expertise throughout the broader organization
May author technical reports, papers and presentations
Qualifications:
Bachelors (or equivalent industrial experience) / Masters / PhD degree in science or engineering with software experience or education.
Required skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are important.
Kubernetes and Docker: 1+ years’ experience with K8S and Docker infrastructure management and deployment, ideally in the cloud, with strong knowledge in container and virtualization technologies
Cloud Platforms: 1+ years’ experience developing/maintaining a solution hosted in the cloud (Azure, AWS, Google), with an emphasis on cloud security best practices.
Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP).
DevOps: Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in Cloud environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools e.g. Helm, Ansible, Saltstack.
Scripting Skills: Strong scripting e.g. Python, HCL, and automation skills
Programming Skills: Go – as we will write Kubernetes Operators in Go – or experience with other complied languages (Java, C/C++, C#)
Operating Systems: Linux and Windows system administration (Linux mandatory)
Monitoring Tools: Experience with system monitoring tools
Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.
