We are seeking a Procurement Specialist for our client.
The Procurement Specialist ensures items or services are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered upon agreed terms and conditions seeking maximum value for the company including agreed time and cost.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up and expedite orders which involve items and goods to ensure that orders are delivered on time to our customers. Target 100% (OTD).
- Drive the demand for goods and services.
- Monitor and track critical order dates against CAD.
- Reviews, updates and maintains Open Purchase Orders until closed.
- Ensure that supplier delivery documentation is available at delivery date.
- Reports Supplier non-conformances. Prepares return documentation to Supplier.
- Point of contact, including daily follow-up of a sourcing and procurement related mailbox.
- Assist the Project Managers with acquiring price and lead time for sale of loose parts or RGR (repair) orders.
- Transmits and prioritizes approved purchase orders, with appropriate supporting documents, to Supplier.
- Tracks acknowledgement of order by Supplier.
- Enquires and tracks with designated Supplier and confirmation of System Lead Time, Delivery Date and Cost
- Assist the PM with location and delivery status of project scope of supply.
- Organize regular status meetings with the Project Managers related to status of ongoing orders which involve goods and services.
- Ensure internal & external costs are received and correctly allocated, in collaboration with the Project Manager and Commercial Administrator.
- Accurate & timely forecasting of ‘need-by’ dates for purchased goods & services.
- Accurate & timely forecasting of ‘need-by’ dates for plant workshop services.
- Escalation of issues to the Project Manager, Supply Chain or management.
- Attend relevant meetings with repair team and project, during larger projects.
- Operate independently with daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
- Training and guidance of others as and when required.
Skills, Qualification and Educational Requirements:
- Strong IT Skills/Highly computer literate.
- Experience of working with ERP system such as SAP.
- Background in purchasing, supply chain, planning / scheduling, or similar Coordination role. Relevant degree qualification preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, pride in completed work.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good at multi-tasking and able to react quickly to urgent issues.
