We are seeking a Project Controller
Duties and responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of period end financial statements
- Perform tasks associated with month-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Perform analytical reviews of the monthly operating results to ensure the reasonability and accuracy of reports
- Providing accurate and timely financial information
- Assist in the preparation of annual budget and periodic forecasts
- Responsible for the preparation of budgets and forecasts on designated departments and the periodic analysis of forecast variances
- Responsible for the preparation of month-end financial statements on designated departments
- Providing analysis and strategic insight to senior management on a proactive and as-requested basis
- Ensuring compliance with relevant local tax, accounting, auditing, and external reporting requirements
- Maintaining an in-depth understanding of the key drivers of the business in order to derive clear and succinct analyses of the ongoing financial performance of operations
- Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
- Ensuring the continued maintenance and development of internal control procedures
- Continually seeking to improve productivity and efficiency through the development of processes and controls
- Leading, mentoring, and providing clear guidance to junior finance staff
- Ensure deliverables of self and team meet expectations
Qualifications:
- Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience
- IFRS and financial reporting technical skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
- Solid understanding of budget forecasting and cost accounting
- Experience with multi-national company & multiple legal entities, preferably within Oil & Gas or shipping industry.
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and team mentality
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Capable of multitasking while adhering to internal or external operational and financial deadlines
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills with propensity to self-manage and work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate concepts and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
- Strong knowledge of computer software; MS Excel, Visma Business, Eye-share, Amesto Analyse
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Confidence to challenge senior opinions and maintain positive working relationship
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
- Outgoing and engaging personality
