MFEX is now looking for a
Head of Back Office with strong leadership experience and capability to ensure operational excellence within the back-office team. The role is a part of the Back Office department (Trading, Cash Management, Transfer, Corporate Actions, Fund Admin/Account Opening) and you will lead a team of a dozen employees specialized in the trading and custody business. The position and team are placed in central
Stockholm and you report directly to COO in Paris, France. MFEX is a true global firm operating in ten countries and the role will entail close collaboration with colleagues in Sweden but also France, Malaysia and Luxembourg. You have a strong understanding of both the Nordic and the international market.
Your Challenge:
Manage, control and support all daily operations within the Back Office groups following prescribed internal and external routines, deadlines and rules to include:
- Approve and support manual daily activities within Trading & Cash Management when necessary
- Actively manage and support all staff and systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of daily activities in the Back Office groups
- Actively protect all client instructions and assets whilst maintaining company interests
- Work with all staff to develop tools and manuals to support and control daily activities
- Work with all staff to identify and implement improvements to relevant systems and company routines to improve customer services, reduce manual work and maximize efficiency in the Back Office
- Provide training and guidance on Back Office activities to staff within all groups and to other departments within the company
- General support of all Back Office operations when and where necessary to ensure full coverage of daily operations
- People management such as performance, engagement, compensation and development
- Lead and develop the business together with the team. Also to follow and stay up to date on regulations and news in the fund market and ensure that the group shares and develops its knowledge.
Your Background:
- University degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
- 7 to 10 years previous experience preferably from the fund business including responsibility for staff
- High standard of PC literacy
- High professional business level in both English and Swedish
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong organizational skills
- Confidence to deal with parties at all levels both internally and externally
- Project management skills as well as broad, proactive problem-solving skills
- Likes to work in a team environment where collaboration and building strong relationships are essential
- Demonstrated high level knowledge of financial sector and fund businesses
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving and changing environment.
