We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our customer in Bergen:
Responsibilities
• Provide technical assistance to the clients on Installation & Commissioning and Life of Field.
• Provide technical assistance to field service engineers, project operations managers and customers with regards to use, troubleshooting/problem solving, maintenance and operation of equipment in the field.
• Provide technical assistance to tendering department concerning scope and requirements during tendering phase for service contracts.
• Participate in design review for potential upgrade of legacy equipment. Technically support design review by providing “lessons learned” from subsea systems field performance.
• Designing technical/give assistance during investigation and resolution of InTouch ticket.
• Day to day engineering support (helpdesk tickets).
• Write and assist to write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for field services during installation and commissioning or ad-hoc field intervention.
• Participate in system integration and/or factory acceptance testing (SIT&FAT) when required for familiarization of various projects specifications and operation.
• Provide input to training and specific job expertise which can enhance readiness of field service engineer/technician prior to undertaking any field service assignment.
• Assist and provide training as and when required both internally and externally.
• Contribute to system improvements and operational optimization.
• Provide technical support as and when required to Repair, related to repair and refurbishment.
• Field trips can be required in particular cases.
• Initiate and promote customer and vendor “Collaboration” in achieving the best and safest result.
• Coach and guide less experienced engineers in the department.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
• An Engineering degree (MSc or BSc). Alternatively, 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Good English Communication skills (Written & Verbal)
• Experience from service and field work related to the oil and gas industry is beneficial.
• PC literate, proficient in MS office as well as current ERP systems.
Required Skills
• Good knowledge of subsea production systems.
• Subsea multiphase pump product knowledge with respect to design, installation and operation.
• Analytic approach to technical investigations and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interface with customers and 3rd party vendors.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge in basic PC applications (MS word, Excel, MS Project, PPT etc.) as well as relevant ERP systems.
