About the role
With a research center in Cambridge, pilot facility in Germany and core business in Sweden we are now looking for a person to have overall finance responsibility to deliver the finance function accountabilities for Europe and act as a link to the headquarters in Australia. As Management Accountant at Talga you will be responsible for the Swedish finance department while also coordinating all financial activity in Europe and report this to the headquarters in Perth, Australia. You will operate within an exciting industry and play a central roll in the company´s development by contributing with competence, experience, and leadership.
Duties as Management Accountant:
- Co-ordinate, prepare and manage the budgets/forecasts for all European activities in line with Talga Group strategic priorities, to feed into consolidated Group.
- Prepare and manage the month-end process and reporting for European operations including but not limited to:
- Profit and Loss
- Balance Sheet
- Cashflow reports
- Cost reports and variance analysis
- Project reports
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Coordinate project accounting/reporting.
- Prepare and manage grant funding reporting.
- Treasury management in liaison with Talga Group Head Office
- Lead European staff in adopting & using SAP.
- Provide financial information and analysis support to managers.
- Manage and supervise European Accounts Officer/Bookkeeper regarding AP/AR.
- Manage monthly and annual VAT returns.
- Manage and supervise the payroll function including outsourced payroll providers in liaison with People’s and Culture Manager.
- Ensure relevant and adequate insurance cover is maintained across the European business entities.
- Assist the Peoples and Culture Manager and EU Data Protection Officer to ensure Group adherence with EU GDPR obligations
- Assist and co-ordinate Annual Income tax returns in liaison with Talga Group Head Office
- Assist and co-ordinate Annual Reports in liaison with Talga Group Head Office

Requirements:
- 7+ years’ experience in accounting with multi national exposure
- A complex finance understanding and self-sufficiency within all areas
- Great ERP system skills
- Advanced Excel skills and significant experience creating and delivering finance reports
- Systems thinking
- Excellent communication/collaboration skills
- Fluency in Swedish and English
Desirable:
- Experience in SAP
- Experience within the mining industry
- Experience in complex, multi-stage processing
- Equivalent internationally recognized professional accounting accreditation
